SC ruling on Elections Reforms Act 2017 victory of democracy: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Welcoming the SC’s ruling on the Elections Reforms Act 2017, PAT Chairman has termed it a victory of democracy, state and the constitution. He said that the decision has given prestige and respect to the vote. He said that whosoever on whom the shadow of the disqualified falls is also rendered disqualified. He said that a proven and certified liar should be kicked out of government for life. He said that the SC ruling is very clear, stating that all the decisions that Nawaz Sharif took after July 28 verdict are now part of the dustbin. He said that those who humiliated democracy and vote by electing the disqualified person as the head of the party should also propose a punishment for themselves.
In a statement he made in the background of the SC ruling, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the Senate elections seem to be in jeopardy due to obduracy of the disqualified person. He asked as to how anyone can be qualified to contest an election who has been awarded ticket by the disqualified? He said that the nation should now understand the reason behind hue and cry being raised by Nawaz Sharif. He said that the disgraced former Prime Minister can see the angel of political death approaching him and it explains why he is trying to catch at a straw. He added that the false narrative of NS has been further dented in the form of yet another damning disqualification.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Nawaz Sharif who presented the Qatari letter and Calibri font on being asked to present money trail will soon be arrested in the corruption cases. He said that the government has protected the corrupt elements by refusing to accept the NAB’s request for putting the names of the Sharif family members on ECL, stating such a government also deserves to be impeached. He said that the accomplices of the disqualified person should also be held accountable.
Dr Qadri said that the Prime Minister has declared war on the state and the constitution by opening a front against the honorable judges of the apex judiciary. He said that such culprits should be behind bars instead of the corridors of power. He said that the announcement by the killer-law minister to introduce motions against the SC in the Punjab Assembly is an attack on the federation of Pakistan and Constitution. He said that we await action on the Model Town tragedy, adding that the 14 dead bodies are demanding justice. He said that it is our appeal to the Chief Justice to take suo moto notice of barbarism in the Model Town.
