Law-breaking elite considers itself above law: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that if the campaign aimed at character assassination of judges of the SC, ridiculing the court’s decisions, provoking the people against judiciary and bringing the national security institutions into disrepute launched by the disqualified PML-N President is further ignored, it will result into grave consequences for the state and society. He said that the law-breaking elite considers itself privileged and above the law of the land. He said that the questions are weighty whether any disqualified person can lead the parliamentarians and preside over the process of governance by other means and whether any act of parliament can override any clause of the Constitution.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri stated this while talking to the senior lawyers of the party through telephone from abroad yesterday. Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate told the PAT Chief that the full bench of the LHC has been constituted to hear the plea for acquisition of the certified copies of the annexes and documents attached with Justice Baqar Najafi Commission report and the JITs’ reports but the date of the hearing has to be announced. He said that Mr. Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh will head the bench. He further said that a full bench has also been set up to hear a petition against the decision of the antiterrorism court regarding summoning of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and other senior bureaucrats, adding that the first hearing in this regard will be held on Feb 14. He said that former IG Police Mushtaq Sukhera has also petitioned the LHC against summons which will be heard by Mr. Justice Abdul Sami on the same day. He further informed that the antiterrorism court will resume hearing of the private complaint in the Model Town case on Feb 16.
After the briefing, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri directed the legal team to focus on the Model Town case and plead it in the court with full vigor and preparation. He said that the case revolves around the human rights of the oppressed and deserves to be given utmost attention. He said that it is our responsibility to seek justice for the oppressed and innocent people. He said that the blood of innocent people will continue to chase the political elite, adding that the citizens were massacred mercilessly. He said that justice will surely be done and the killers will meet their end.
The PAT Chairman said that after the publication of Justice Najafi Commission report, no iota of doubt is left as to who was behind planning and executing the tragedy except the Sharif brothers. He said that it was the worst act of state terrorism in which an institution of the state i.e. police sprayed bullets on innocent citizens. He said that both our friends and foes are aware of the strength and passion of the PAT workers. He said that our struggle is to get justice for the martyrs of Model Town tragedy through courts and in line with the law of the land, adding that it is his prayer that justice is dispensed within the law. He said that if we took to streets for justice, then the world will see the fate of the perpetrators. He said that the cause of justice of the Model Town victims is part of our faith.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that an important case of Election Reforms Act is being adjudicated by the apex court. He said that Nawaz Sharif did not become a party to another case of determination of the disqualification case because he knows full well that he cannot face the judges. He said that Nawaz Sharif is not only contemnor of the court but also of the humanity.
