Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri terms martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto as national loss
In a statement on the 10th death anniversary of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has termed her martyrdom as a huge loss to the nation. He said that Mohtarama was a political identity of Pakistan in the world and her political journey was based on peace, development and stability.
Dr Qadri said that he still has vivid memories of joint political struggle with Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. He said that she was a life-member of MQI and would often visit the central secretariat. He said that she was an honorable, and seasoned politician who struggled hard for establishment of real democracy. She had to suffer many hardships during the course of her journey.
The PAT Chairman said that terrorism has inflicted incalculable loss on the country and undermined our political, economic and diplomatic interests. He said that the whole nation and the political forces will have to work jointly for elimination of terrorism. He said that the sacrifices rendered by BB Shaheed form glorious chapter of our national history.
Meanwhile, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has welcomed the UN resolution adopted in favor of the persecuted Burmese Muslims. He demanded an end to military operation and state violence and granting of citizenship rights to them. He said that implementation of the resolution passed by the UN with such a thumping majority will result in political stability and peace in the world and improve the image of the UN as well.
