20 youth organizations form National Youth Alliance
A meeting of 20 religious and political parties and students’ organization was held under the banner of PAT Youth League at the central secretariat of the party. The participants of the meeting decided to launch a joint struggle against corruption, joblessness and extremism and set up National Youth Alliance on the occasion.
Briefing the media after the meeting, Mazhar Alvi along with other leaders said that all youth wing of each party will work for achievement of shared objectives from the platform of National Youth Alliance by keeping its individual identity intact. Mohsin Chaudhry of Insaf Students Federation, Waqas Chadurhy of Insaf Youth Wing, Sajjad Naqvi of Wahdat Youth Wing, Sohail Cheema of Muslim Students Federation-Q, Shabbir Sialvi of State Youth Parlaiment, Musa Khokhar of Peoples’ Students Federation, Rana Sultan of People’s Youth Orgnaization, Farid Razzaqi of Jamat-e-Islami Youth Wing, Saddam Hussain of MQM-P, Kamran Saeed Usmani of Jamhuri Watan party Youth Wing, Abdur Rehman of JUI-F, Mian Anser of MSM, Moazzam Shah of Suraikestan Democratic Movement (youth), Muhammad Zaheer-ud-Din of Pakistan Youth Council, Muhammad Hunzala of Al-Hamadia Students Organization, Ali Raza Nat of PAT Youth Wing, Haji Farrukh, Mansoor Qasim, Umar Awan and others were also present on the occasion.
Mazhar Mahmood Alvi said that the students and youth are being neglected in every walk of life including acquisition of education to provision of jobs. He said that we will gather the youth of the whole country on a single platform for protection of their rights. The meeting also demanded that all those characters and individuals who are involved in character assassination campaign against the armed forces and judiciary should be brought to book. It also demanded that after indictment, former ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should be arrested, holding that the cause of accountability will get a boost with solid action against the corrupt.
The leaders of the youth organizations agreed to take effective steps for career counselling and protecting the youth from extremist influences. They decided to hold seminars, workshops and training moots to make the youth aware and sensitized. A 20-member Youth Council was also announced to implement the agenda of National Youth Alliance.
Mazhar Alvi said that the youths are builder of the nation. They need to get together to put the country on the path of progress and prosperity. He warned that if they were allowed to fall victim to disappointment for want of guidance, it will bear negative consequences. He said that the struggle of youth organizations that are part of National Youth Alliance will move the country forward and help students and youth realize their potential. He said that the current rulers have not given anything to the nation except suicides, unemployment and destruction of national honour, adding that those nations that do not consolidate themselves economically cannot play any leading role at the global forums. He said that time has come for the students and youth to wake up from passivity and play their individual and collective roles for national progress and protection of their rights.
The PAT Youth Wing president said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has identified the malaise of cancer afflicting Pakistan. He said that Dr Qadri is like a qualified surgeon who has the ability and competence to cure this cancer. He asked the youth and students to heed his call and support his agenda of positive and peaceful change. He said that current corruption-ridden system is the killer of hopes, dreams and aspirations of the youth. He said that a society can be made prosperous by investing in moral training of the youth. He said that the youth have the energy and passion to make any movement successful and without their effective participation, no movement can succeed in attaining its objectives.
