Intra-court appeal in LHC is a confession by government: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the filing of intra-court appeal in the LHC by the Punjab government is a confession. He said that those who committed contempt of humanity on June 17 also committed contempt of court on September 22. He said that if the Sharif brothers had not been involved in Model Town carnage, they would have made the Najfi report public by now. He said that this tragedy was not an accident but the outcome of a thorough planning for which the meetings were held that are on record.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said this while talking to different delegations that called on him yesterday at his residence. He said that orphans, poor families of the martyrs of Model Town are looking towards the high echelons of justice. He said that the rulers are clearly behind the Model Town tragedy, otherwise, there was no enmity of PAT or MQI with police. He said that IG Police who was brought to Lahore to preside over the carnage in Model Town is either made advisor or a tax ombudsman lest he should become an approver but he added in the same breath that none of their tactics will work in the long run and they will have to give an account of their actions.
The PAT leader said that the Sharifs wanted the power to make postings and transfers in the army and judiciary like they do in Punjab police but their unholy desire could not be fulfilled and they were caught in the grip of law. He said that Nawaz Sharif cannot brave courts and accountability as he has only been trained in looting the country and running away from it with their loot. He said that answers to many questions lie buried in the Volume 10.
Dr Qadri said that the political elite has always used democracy and parliament for their vested interests and facilitation. They made and broke laws to suit their interests whose glaring example is approval of amendment in Clause 203. He said that the elite politicized institutions and appointed their henchmen to head them. He said that they always gather worthless people around them who keep silent over the excesses committed by their political patrons.
He further stated that even if 100 elections are held under the current election system, no change will come about, adding that elections will be useful only after accountability and electoral reforms. He said that elections are sold in the present system. ‘It is a system of hooliganism in which only those win an election who have arms and money’, he concluded.
