People & armed forces united to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Talking to different delegations of the party office holders and workers in connection with the Pakistan Defence Day, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the nation is proud of the sacrifices rendered by the officers and jawans of the armed forces. He said that the performance of Pakistan armed forces with an annual budget of Rs. 900 billion is way better than the army having a budget of $100 billion. No other army has shown such an unprecedented gallantry in war on terrorism despite financial constraints, he said.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the military and the civilian institutions will have to work in unison for protection of geographical and ideological frontiers of the country. He said that for survival and stability of the country, nexus between corruption and terrorism needs to be broken.
The PAT Chairman paid rich tributes to the armed forces of Pakistan and stated that our military has performed remarkably well for establishment of international peace, elimination of terrorism and protection of the defence of the motherland. He said that the credit for this wonderful performance goes to the martyrs, adding that on this day, we pay homage to the heroes and Ghazis of September war 1965 who laid down their lives while defending the motherland against the unprovoked Indian aggression. He said that the forces of evil cannot dare stand before the passion for Jihad of Pakistan armed forces.
Dr Qadri said that Pakistan came into being as a result of sacrifices, adding that there is a need of more sacrifices for its stability and survival. He said that the country’s ideological and physical frontiers face threats from extremist and radicalized ideology that is using intimidation and fear to browbeat people into submission. He said that ‘khawarij’ want to impose their retrogressive agenda on the peaceful citizens. He said that the people of Pakistan with the support of their valiant armed forces would not let them do that. He said that more than 5000 officers and jawans of Pakistan armed forces embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists. He demanded that all points contained in the National Action Plan should be implemented in letter and spirit.
