Nawaz Sharif likely to target institutions: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the justifications offered by the former Prime Minister in his defence, who is convicted in the Panama leaks case, make no sense and fly in the face of facts. He said that what has come to the fore is just a tip of the iceberg, adding that the list of crimes committed by the ruling elite is very long and they need to be meted out exemplary punishment for that.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the nomination of the Punjab Chief Minister, who is main accused in the Model Town incident as the Prime Minister of the country, will be a great joke with law, constitution and morality. He said that the nation will not accept Shahbaz Sharif as the PM due to his role in Model Town, adding that the destination of the killers of innocent people in Model Town is jail. He said that we wanted to ask as to when Justice Najafi Commission report will be made public and when the families of the Model Town will get justice.
Dr Qadri said that we have neither budged an inch from our demand of justice in the form of Qisas nor can anyone make us do that. He said that Nawaz Sharif was ousted the third time on corruption, noting that the former PM was born in an environment of corruption and grew up in the same. He said that the stubbornness with which he is claiming to be pious and innocent despite being shown the door through a unanimous decision of the SC suggests that the mafia would now bow out easily. He said that law has taken its course and it is now on the people to play their part.
The PAT Chairman demanded that the Model Town Commission report and documents contained in the Volume 10 of the JIT report should be made public now. He said that Nawaz Sharif just did not loot the country but his actions against the national security are on record as well. He said that the day he presented proofs of employment of the Indians in ruling family’s mills and factories, the former PM should have been arrested the same day. He said that the leeway that was given to the mafia members was not offered to any other criminal.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri feared that Nawaz Sharif will not sit idle and will target the national institutions such as judiciary and national security institutions. He said that anxiety of the former ruler has increased manifold after expression of complete satisfaction by the people with the judgment of the apex court.
