Working classes urged to forge united front for revolution

PAT (Labour wing) organized a seminar to observe the global day of labourers. The speakers while addressing the seminar said that despite 70 years had passed, the economic and social condition of laborers has not changed. The capitalistic system has forced the 190 million people to live the life of slaves. They also lamented that whenever OGRA forwarded summery for reducing the prices, PM rejected the summery immediately. The students, the farmers and the labourers must come forward for bringing about revolution, each and every government maintained enmity with the friends of Allah: the laborers. Millions of industrial laborers and farmers are the victim of the exploitation and brutalities of government and bourgeoisie. None of labourers would be found to be tax evader. Our elite class who is determined to complete the extravagant 200 billion project of Orange Line Train project, failed in constructing cheap houses of Ashiana scheme for the labourers.

The seminar was presided over by PAT (Labour wing) central president, Ishtiaq Chaudhry whereas Shaukat Ali Chaudhry, Secretary General Pakistan Labour Front (Pakistan Mazdoor Mahaz), Fazal Wahid, the president of All Pakistan Trade Union Federation and Hasan Raza, the Secretary General of PTA were the chief guests of seminar. The PAT central Secretary Coordination, Sajid Mahmood Bhatti, extended his warm welcome to the farmers, the labour leaders and other participants of the seminar. He also read out the message of PAT Chairman Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri in which PAT leader had expressed his solidarity with the labourers. Arif Chaudhry performed the duties of the stage secretary.

Shaukat Ali Chaudhry pointed out that when Finance Minister or other international financial institution informed that there were 50% people living under poverty line that implied the labourers’ children were devoid of basic facilities of balanced diet, safe drinking water, education and health. “These people who are deeply affected by the increase in prices of meat, fruit, vegetable, pulses, milk, eggs and by artificial inflation”. He further added.

Ishtiaq Chaudhry said that Pakistan has the highest rates of electricity, gas, and petroleum products in this region. “If OGRA forwards a summery for increasing prices, the PM wastes no time in approving it but contrary to this, when OGRA recommended decrease in oil prices on 27th April, the PM immediately rejected the OGRA recommendations. This is injustice and enmity with the poor people”. He lamented.

Fazal Wahid pointed out that it was the labourers who were most affected by load shedding. Annually 1 million labourers were losing jobs due to load shedding. All the efforts of decreasing or controlling load shedding are just cosmetic steps to increase the political capital. Akbar Ali said that the farmers, the students and the labourers must forge united front in order to bring about a revolution.

Sajid Bhatti informed the audience that the philosophy of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is not limited to just increase the wages, in fact it demands the share of labourers in mills and profit in order to usher in the era of progress, prosperity and increased productivity.
