PAT demands judicial commission to probe allegations of Javed Hashmi
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the allegations made by Javed Hashmi against the Supreme Court after the army are quite grave and of serious nature and they need to be investigated. He said that we demand the constitution of the judicial commission where Javed Hashmi should be summoned and asked to present the proofs. He said that such allegations are robbing the institution of the remainder of the respect and credibility. He said that from hindsight, all such elements appear to be involved in bringing the SC into disrepute who have vast experiences of hatching such heinous conspiracies. He said that the Commission should summon all those whose names have been mentioned including the former Chief Justice.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur expressed these views while talking to the newsmen at the central secretariat of the party the other day. He said it is important to know as to why Hashmi came up with the latest conspiracy theory of judicial martial law at a time when his patrons are in real trouble over Panama and news leaks scandal.
Meanwhile, the PAT Secretary General, while commenting on the SC observation, said that after branding of the NAB as facilitator of corruption, the institution should be closed down. He said that it is correct that the NAB takes action only against the lowly officials and shows the way out to the big fish who have looted this country with both hands. He said that the NAB has played a very shameful role in the Mushtaq Raisani case. He said that the NAB authorities are saying that the law of plea bargain was enacted not by them but Parliament, adding that every member sitting in the Parliament should take notice of these remarks of the NAB officials. He said if the plea bargain law has been made by the Parliament, then all those who have taken part in its enactment should be proceeded against. He said that the laws are only for the weak and the powerless whereas the powerful are above the law of the land.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the greatest example of the powerful being above the law is that despite passage of ten months, the Parliament failed to agree on consensual ToRs to investigate the Panama leaks case. He said that the Sharif family is responsibility for undermining democracy and institutions. He said that the PAT Chairman talks about accountability of the powerful and fair application of law. He said that it is for this reason that the Model Town tragedy was perpetrated in which innocent people were martyred.
