PAT raises 15 questions regarding the Quetta Commission report
Pakistan Awami Tehreek has announced to get the Justice Qazi Faez Isa report translated into Urdu and distribute it freely among the people. The party raised 15 questions regarding the report and said that the Quetta Commission report has exposed the true face of the Nawaz government.
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and Secretary Information Noorullah Siddiqui stated this while talking to media men at the central secretariat here.
The PAT leaders said that the report has ratified the stance of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri regarding terrorism. They said that it is not just one ministry but the whole government which is involved in scrapping the National Action Plan. They said that it has been proven that the claims of breaking the nexus between terrorism and corruption were limited to the statements only.
The questions raised by the PAT are as follows:
- Who will take notice of the shortcomings and criminal acts of omissions mentioned in the report?
- National Action Plan was approved with complete consensus. Why did the government play criminal role in regard to its implementation?
- Why has NECTA not been provided with requisite funds and powers despite passage of two years? Why did the NECTA not hold even a single meeting? Why did the Interior Minister hold a meeting with the head of a defunct organization and for which purpose?
- Why did the Interior Minister accept the demands of the banned organizations regarding the national identity cards of the members of the banned outfits? Was the cabinet taken on board on this decision?
- Why did the government employ delaying tactics in launching Operation Zarb-e-Azb and banning the terrorist organizations?
- Which is the terrorist organization that has not been banned to this day which the Commission mentioned in its report?
- Why is the government hesitant in the war on terror as indicated by the Commission in its report?
- Why has the government allowed the banned organizations to carry on with their activities in violation of the Anti-terrorism Act?
- Why has the government failed in designing the counter-terrorism and pro-peace curriculum despite passage of two years?
- Why have religious seminaries not been registered and monitored despite repeated assurances?
- Why has the government committed criminal negligence with reference to maintaining law and order in the Balochistan province?
- Why has the government not collected forensic information of the terrorist attacks?
- What hurdles are there in the way of decisions in the cases of terrorism?
- Why does the government not have the record of the organizations that accepted the responsibility of terrorist attacks?
Why is the release of report compiled by the Justice Najfi-led commission on Model Town massacre not being ordered in the same way the SC ordered the government to make the Quetta Commission report public despite resistance from the government?
