Quetta Commission report a charge sheet against govt: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the mindset of breaking the country holds power today as well. He said that had any lessons been learnt from the Fall of Dhaka, the corrupt mafia would not have played with destiny of the 190 million people. He said that our stance regarding National Action Plan has been endorsed by the Quetta Commission report which was released on the orders of the Supreme Court. He said that the federal government has been throwing dust in the eyes of the people and the institutions for two years in the name of NAP and war on terror. He said that it is regrettable that the state institutions remained quiet despite being in the knowledge of the situation.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to the members of the PAT Core Committee and the senior leaders at the party secretariat yesterday. He said that after the Quetta tragedy report, no one should harbor any doubt that the rulers and terrorists are the two sides of the same coin. He demanded that the Model Town commission report should also be ordered to be made public like the Quetta report so that the nation could know about the identity of the killers.
The PAT Chairman said that many a report is released but the key question is as to which of the institutions will hold the rulers accountable and put them in the dock. He said that the Quetta report is a charge-sheet for the rulers. He said that at a time when the enemy of Pakistan is brazenly talking about cutting off water supply, breaking it into many pieces and fanning the fires of terrorism and sectarianism, the attention of the ‘ruling businessmen’ remains focused on protecting their illegitimate and ill-gotten money. He said that institutions are ineffective and Parliament cuts a sorry figure, praying may Allah Almighty protect Pakistan and its people!
Dr Qadri said that a number of tragedies happened after the APS tragedy on December 16, 2014 but insensitivity of the rulers has known no bounds. He said that Iqbal Park, Quetta and Bacha Khan University tragedies are the glaring proofs. He said that the Quaid-i-Azam’s Pakistan was halved but what to speak of meting out punishment, even the responsibility of such a horrendous tragedy was not fixed. He said that no one talks about the Hamood-ur-Rehman Commission report anymore. He said that had such a tragedy happened in any other country, many heads would have rolled.
The PAT Chairman said that the corruption-ridden system has made Pakistan a haven for the traitors, terrorists and those who play with the national security. He said that no institution gets moved. Justice is non-existent and those who raise their voice against injustices have to suffer the consequences like the Model Town carnage. He said that had institutions been working according to the Constitution, those involved in breaking the country would have been held to account for their acts of commission and omission. He said whether it is Quetta or Model Town tragedies or the Panama or Dawn news leak, no one can even dare touch the culprits today. He said that when law discriminates between the powerful and the weak on the basis of their status, then tragedies upon tragedies continue to happen and the freedoms of the nation get compromised.
