Efforts underway to influence SC through unofficial audit reports: PAT
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the publication of international firm Ferguson’s report regarding the tax returns of the ruling family is meant for mind making so that the nation is in a position to accept the expected decision with ‘ease’. He said that an effort is being made to influence the Supreme Court through unofficial audit reports. He said that whenever the Sharifs face pressure on account of accountability, they take refuge in the reports of foreign firms. He said that the rejection of claims of opposition by the Ferguson report is the most interesting thing because generally speaking the international firms do not use such language nor do they indulge in local political issues.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated this while talking to senior leaders at the central secretariat. He said that it is the Election Commission or the Supreme Court, which has to decide about the correctness or otherwise of tax returns of the PM and his family, adding that any clean chit from Ferguson does not have any moral or legal importance. He asked which legal forum or court asked for the audit of the returns from an international organization or why did the ruling family feel its need? He said that if the ruling family does not have anything to hide, it should submit answers in the Supreme Court from which they have been running away for last seven months. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s view regarding funeral of Panama is closer to reality, adding that everything he says is endorsed by the ensuing circumstances and the people after some time.
