Will ‘miracle children’ be asked about sources of their properties? Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has asked whether the ‘miracle children’ will be questioned as to how they managed to buy properties worth billions of rupees and what magic wand they used to do so. He said that the position Prime Minister took during his address to the nation and at the floor of the Parliament is in conflict with the statement he has submitted to the Supreme Court. He said that to say that no child is his under his guardianship is opposed to what he had stated in the documents presented to the ECP at the time of General Elections 2013. He said that if hard questions were raised with regard to sources of wealth, its supply and mode of transportation, it cannot be said for sure whether the hearing will continue to take place peacefully.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that according to our information, necessary changes have been brought about in the documents in the long span of seven months ever since the Panama leaks issue exploded. He said that it has yet to be seen as to when the jurisdiction of the investigators is challenged and what new law the Parliament, which is “representative of the Constitution and the people”, passes in this respect.
Dr Qadri stated this while talking to the senior leaders of the party yesterday. He said that this is the only corruption case whose proofs lie in the statements of the accused, their very properties and beings. He said that with acceptance of the petition against the Prime Minister and the start of proceedings on it, moral basis of his rule has come to an end but added in the same breath that the Sharif brothers’ democracy has nothing to do with morality. He said that many a commission was formed in the past and they will continue to be formed in future as well but their reports never see light of the day. He said that the Model Town Judicial Commission report has yet to be made public as well.
The PAT Chairman said that no definitive opinion can be given as to under which ToRs does the Supreme Court advance the proceedings on the Panama issue. He said that answers to some of the questions will come to the fore with the passage of time. He said that the real question is that when the mill located in Dubai was sold, where was this money parked from 1982 to 2000? How did it travel to Jeddah and by which source was it sent to London later on? He said that the offshore companies suggest that the luxurious flats were purchased in 1990s. He asked what kind of purchase it is that accommodation was started before 1990, whereas the payment was made 25 years later. Under which agreement and in which status did the residents live in these flats during the intervening period?
The PAT Chairman said that it is the government itself, which has to present the record to the Supreme Court. He said that it has yet to be seen how the investigating institutions make the original record the part of the files because both fake and original records are available in the market.
Meanwhile, PAT Chairman expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the loss of precious lives in the incident of train wreck. He said that the government is in the hands of the corrupt people who are unable to secure the lives of the masses.
