Inquiry by retired judge joke with national security: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that getting the Cyril inquiry to be conducted by a retired judge is a joke with the national security and yet another game of the government. He said that we reject the proposed commission under the retired judge, which is meant to give clean-chit. He said that the news item should be taken notice of, adding that the whole nation is also concerned over the breach of national security in a high-level meeting on October 6. He said that in a country where the inquiry reports of the serving judges do not carry any importance, how come a retired judge picks up the courage to give a verdict contrary to the desires of the rulers. He said that the prime minister is involved in this game and a commission comprising a retired judge is being set up to push the highly sensitive matter under the carpet.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that since the matter is related to national security, a committee consisting of representatives of ISI, MI and IB should conduct the inquiry, adding that the ISI should lead this inquiry. He said that games are being played for a month around an issue about which the Pakistan Army and the Corps Commander Conference expressed its grave concerns and reservations to the Prime Minister. He said that despite delay of one month, the Interior Minister’s statement that the former Information Minister will not be part of investigation is an open message for the national security institution that what to speak of taking action against top office holder, it is not in a mood to let even a ‘junior clerk’ be included in the investigation process.
Dr Qadri said that everyone knows that the story was drafted in the Prime Minister’s House, and it was leaked to the newspaper and made viral around the world from there. He said that the name of journalist Cyril Almeida was put on the ECL in order to turn it into big ticket news item. He asked how all of this could be possible without approval of the Prime Minister? He said that Cyril leaks was not just a coincidence but a carefully planned move by the present government and its international backers. He said that if this attack on the national security was ignored, then the nation should stand ready to bear more crises.
The PAT Chairman said that he gave the proofs of the Indian engineers working in the Sharif’s sugar mills before the nation and the media but no action was taken and this inaction has resulted in the form of Cyril leaks.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri reached London from Morocco.
