PAT Spokesperson rejects allegations of TV anchors

PAT Spokesperson has said that the mother of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif neither called Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri nor was any direct or indirect contact made with him to postpone the Raiwind March. He said that the decision not to march on the Raiwind was taken in a meeting of the PAT Core Committee and Dr Qadri has spoken on the matter at length in his press conference.

The Spokesperson said that Ch. Ghulam Hussain, anchor of a private TV talk show, made a misleading statement based on lies regarding the phone call of PM’s mother to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, which we strongly reject. He said that in the same way senior journalist Arif Nizami’s allegation of money being received in the name of meeting the expenditure incurred is based on outright lies and a mean attempt aimed at character assassination. He said that we strongly condemn such baseless and ill-founded allegations and demand of the anchors to offer apology, adding that if they did not do so, then a suitable legal action will be taken against them.
