Government should build lives of rain affectees: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the loss of precious lives and destruction of property in Chitral due to heavy monsoon rains. He said that his prayers and sympathies are with those who lost their near and dear ones. He said that personnel of Pakistan Army were on duty during the floods and they performed their duty in an appreciable manner and some of them also lost their lives in the line of duty. He led a special Dua in the Itikaf City for the rain affectees and the martyrs of Pakistan Army.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri asked the government to use all resources to help the people in acute need and trace the missing persons. He underlined that urgent steps need to be taken for provision of medicines, food and other things for the rain affectees. He said that the financial assistance announced by the federal and provincial governments for the affectees is not sufficient. He said that the government cannot absolve themselves of the responsibility by announcing monetary support. He said that the governments should not only rebuild houses but also give jobs to those families whose bread winners died in these flash floods. He also directed local PAT and MQI workers to take full part in the relief and rehabilitation activities. He said that we express our sympathies with the people of Chitral, Kashmir and KPK.
