PAT Lahore thanks people for making sit-in successful
A ceremony was held in the central secretariat to acknowledge the services of PAT and MQI workers belonging to Lahore who took part in making the sit-in of June 17 successful. The office bearers of all towns attended the ceremony in large number in addition to MWL President Ms. Farah Naz, MYL President Mazhar Alvi, MSM President Irfan Yousaf, MQI Lahore President Hafiz Ghulam Farid and General Secretary Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal.
Addressing the ceremony, Ms. Farah Naz said that the historic participation of the people in large number particularly the women in the Lahore sit-in was a reflection of unwavering trust in the leadership of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. She said that such a large assembly of people on The Mall is a message to the killers that we have not forgotten the martyrdom of Tanzeela Amjad and Shazia Murtaza and others. She said that the sit-in caused anxiety and nervousness in the PML-N and the statements of the leadership of the ruling party means that their days in power have been numbered. She said that the sit-in proved that the vision of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has won acceptance among the masses. She said that the corruption drama of a few families in the name of democracy is going to end soon.
Mazhar Alvi, President of MYL, said that the martyrs of Model Town are our pride and a foundation of the revolution. He said that we can never forget them. He said that we would take revenge from the perpetrators of Model Town tragedy in the form of revolution and Qisas. He said that mass participation of the youth in the sit-in means that the youths have woken up politically and are ready to say yes to the call of their leader.
Irfan Yousaf, President of MSM, said that the students were in the forefront of struggle for Pakistan under the leadership of the Quaid-e-Azam and they are playing the same vanguard role in the movement of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that we are thankful to the students of various colleges and universities for attending the sit-in and expressing solidarity with the martyrs of Model Town.
Hafiz Ghulam Farid said that the people of Lahore and traders of the Mall road hosted the sit-inners from around the country on June 17. He said that we are thankful to everyone who showed his solidarity with the martyrs on the completion of two years of the Model Town anniversary. He said that the PML-N ministers are nervous and the volley of their baseless allegations against PAT Chairman is a reflection of that. He said that the sit-in of June 17 was a referendum against the killers of Model Town victims.
