Protest on The Mall for sake of justice: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the sit-in on The Mall on June 17 is for the sake of justice for martyrs of Model town. He said that the people continue to suffer hardships and are fully helpless in the face of circumstances. He said that our protests and sit-in hit at the core of the oppressive government. He said that the family members of martyrs of Model Town tragedy did not get justice during the last two years and now we are left with no option but to take to the streets. Lawyer community, journalists, human rights activists and traders should support the cause of justice.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to the office bearers of PAT UK yesterday. He said that people belonging to all walks of life are out on the roads and protesting for their rights. He said that the protest by representatives of a community is basically a protest by the whole community. He said that the masses are in great difficulty and their representatives are on the roads. He said that time has come to hold the rulers accountable. He said that the present rulers are the threat to peace, stability and rule of law in the country. He said that the PML-N government is responsible for martyrdom of 14 people, adding that we have neither forgotten our people nor will we forgive the killers.
The PAT Chairman said that the judicial commission report contains the names and addresses of those who perpetrated Model Town tragedy and it is for this reason that the report is being released. He said that the wealth and power for which the blood of innocent people was shed would not stay with the perpetrators. He said that ‘Go Nawaz Go’ campaign is set to be launched. He directed the PAT workers to reach Lahore on June 17 to attend the protest.
Meanwhile, PAT Secretary Information Noorullah Siddiqui has said that PAT Chairman Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri would leave London for Lahore at 11:00 pm on June 14 and will reach the Lahore Airport at 8 am on June 15 where he would be accorded warm welcome. He said that he would also speak to the media at the Airport.
