Panama leaks issue more complicated now: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Prime Minister should have announced the establishment of a commission through an ordinance in addition to formulation of joint ToRs. He said that his conduct and speech gave the clear impression that he did not want to give definitive answers. He said that the new sources of wealth mentioned by the PM during his speech, he probably did not know about the presence of ‘oilfields’, otherwise he would surely have mentioned any of them in his speeches and media talks during the last one and half months. He said that it is for the first time that the nation got to know about these sources of wealth stashed in Jeddah and Dubai, adding that these sources of income are the blessing of ‘medical treatment’ he had in London a few weeks ago.
PAT Chairman expressed these views while addressing the consultative meeting of the party through video link at the central secretariat. He said that the Panama leaks issue has become even more complicated now. He said that he is certain that this story of corruption and loot should surely reach its logical conclusion. He said that whenever the rulers try to clarify, their tongues roll out new revelations. He said that new properties will be exposed and new oilfields will be discovered. He said that the PM has breached the discretion of 190 million people by telling lies at the floor of the Parliament and now the PM is left with no moral justification to remain clinging to power anymore.
Dr Qadri said that the establishment of powerful commission instead of toothless parliamentary committee is inevitable to probe the Panama leaks. He said that the properties whose purchase in 2005 is being mentioned were actually bought in the decade of 1990s and their documented proofs are available. He said that the Opposition’s contention that the seven questions have expanded to seventy questions is correct. He said that if even a single penny has not gone out of Pakistan, then for whom did the current Finance Minister launder money? He said that we would soon expose the web of lies of the PM.
