Panama leaks issue confined to letter-writing despite of two months: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that one month has passed since the Panama leaks issue came to surface and the matter has not gone beyond writing of letters. He said that the Prime Minister has written one letter to the Supreme Court and the Opposition has written another to the government and no one is getting an answer from anywhere.
Dr Qadri expressed these views while addressing a consultative meeting of PAT through video link. He said that instead of giving straight answers, the corrupt lot is making fun of the opposition’s letter and staring them in face. He said that those who have no compunction to take lives of innocent people to save their power cannot come to the straight path as a result of letters. He said that despite documented proofs being here and there in the form of the Panama leaks, there is studied silence everywhere. He said it appears as if talking against corruption and loot of resources is the job of a few anchors and journalists.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the people of Pakistan want that each and every penny should be retrieved from the looters but the institutions responsible for conducting accountability remain unaffected. He said that unless people come out on the roads to save the country from plunderers and rid the country of the corrupt, the process of accountability will not get underway.
The PAT Chairman said that the PAT is the only political party, which rendered physical sacrifice of 14 innocent people and continues to struggle alone after passage of two years. He said despite suffering brutalities the courage of our workers remains intact, adding that the PAT and its workers will be in the forefront to render more sacrifices for the country in times to come if need be. He said that we have not got justice for our martyrs despite passage of two years. He said that he already stated that our patience should not be tested anymore and the doors of justice should not be shut on the people. He said that it appears that the rulers are misconstruing our peacefulness and law-abidingness. He said that we want to make it clear that we would not budge an inch from our demand of justice.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri condemned the killing of social activist Khurram Zaki and demanded that the culprits should be apprehended.
