Son of Justice (r) Khalil-ur-Rehman made AG as reward for his services: PAT

PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that Shakil-ur-Rehman, the son of Justice (r ) Khalil-ur-Rehman, a longtime family friend of the Sharif family, has been appointed Advocate General of Punjab as a reward for his father’s special services in the Model Town case. He said that the last of characters rendering services to the ruling family in respect of Model Town tragedy has been rewarded profusely.

The PAT Secretary General said that a Judicial Commission headed by Justice Baqir Ali Najfi was established to probe Model Town tragedy and the Commission held the Punjab government directly responsible for the massacre. He said that after the report was furnished, the government headed a review committee led by Justice (r ) Khalil-ur-Rehman, one of the loyalists and the former justice, declared the report to be flawed within 24 hours and gave a clean chit to the rulers. He said that appointment of Advocate General Punjab is the gift for the same services.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that it is a unique example that a retired judged was tasked to review report of a serving justice of the LHC, adding that it is how justice was murdered. He reminded that Justice (r ) Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan is the same judge who lobbied against his Chief Justice Sajjad Ali in the Supreme Court attack case and got them a clean chit from the Balochistan High Court.

The PAT Secretary General said that the rulers are using money and influence to hush up the matter of 14 killings of the Model Town tragedy but the blood of martyrs will not go in vain and those who perpetrated the horrible crime will be held accountable. He said that we would soon announce a decisive strategy to get justice in the Model Town case.
