Religious scholars urged to play their role against terrorism, extremism
A high-level delegation of Irtiqa International led by Mufti Allama Sajjad Madni visited the central secretariat of the PAT and held a meeting with the office holders of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council namely Allama Imdadullah Qadri, Allama Mir Asif Akbar, Dr Masood Ahmad Mujahid, and Allama Usman Sialvi. Mufti Azhar Madni, Allama Shahyar Madni, and Allama Ashfaq Madni were other members of the delegation.
Talking on the occasion, Mufti Allama Sajjad Madni appreciated the services of MQI for promotion of brotherhood and peace. He said that the thought spawning terrorism can be eliminated by seeking guidance from the Fatwa and Islamic Curriculum on Peace authored by Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that the Muslim world is in dire need of unity in its ranks. He said that Irtiqa International is struggling for creation of unity, harmony and brotherhood in the Islamic world. He said that we have nothing to do with any political or religious party.
Allama Sajjad Madni said that given the complexity of disorder, it is responsibility of religious scholars to play their individual and collective role in rectifying the disorder afflicting different walks of life. He said that for this to be possible, the religious scholars will have to become paragon of piety.
Allama Imdadullah Qadri, while speaking on the occasion, said that scholars belonging to Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council will continue to play their constructive role for propagation of peace, interfaith harmony and love in the country. He said that MQI stands for revival of Islam and considers the role of knowledge as being central in this regard. He said that we particularly focus on hard work to acquire knowledge to be able to address challenges. He said that we need to focus on the religious teachings to keep ourselves safe from the attack of materialism. He said that the process of strengthening positive change cannot succeed without peaceful revolution.
