NAB’s plea bargain drama exposed: PAT
A Spokesperson of PAT has said that revelation of more than 80% money not being recovered from those who bought their release from the NAB as a result of plea bargain is startling, condemnable and a grave crime. He said that the NAB’s façade of plea bargain has been exposed as per expectations. He said that as long as the institutions responsible for conducting accountability protect the corrupt, we will never be able to get rid of corruption from this country.
The PAT Spokesperson said that the PAT has zero tolerance with regard to corruption and considers corruption as a threat to the country’s survival. He said that it is our demand that judicial investigation should be ordered into such cases of plea bargain where deals were struck but the agreed-upon money was not deposited in the national kitty and the facts should be placed before the nation. He said that it is mind blowing as to why the national criminals were freed without payment of money despite being held. He asked as to what are the elements in the NAB that are protecting the looters instead of the national interest.
The Spokesperson said that if the Chairman NAB had focused the amount of attention on his work which he has given to his publicity, he would not have been embarrassed by such revelations of 80% agreed-upon money not being recovered. He further said that the plunderer of the national resources will have a field day in the presence of the rulers who are fond of amnesty schemes aimed at legitimizing black money.
