Questions being raised because NAP not implemented uniformly: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that if the National Action Plan against terrorism had been implemented uniformly in all the four provinces, the questions would not have been raised about it. He said that the nation is ‘comforted’ with rhetoric and empty statements. He said that those using the sacrifice of thousands of people against terrorism for the sake of political interests cannot be well-wisher of the nation. He said that 80% of the NAP has not even been touched. He said that people are concerned as to the future of war fought against terrorism.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to various delegations of PAT that called on him at the central secretariat yesterday. He said that the nation suffered many blows as one tragedy after the other hurt its soul. He said that after so many incidents, it was thought that the rulers have awakened from slumber but this has turned out be a façade.
Dr Qadri said that corruption and terrorism have close connection, adding that unless the economic terrorists are brought to justice, this nexus would not be broken. He said that the fate of the NAP is before the national security institutions, a fact we had hinted a long time ago. He said that wealth and power are the most important factors near the rulers and they can go to any extent for both. He said whenever anyone gets a taste of the rulers’ behavior, he is reminded of the Model Town tragedy. He said that we are fighting for justice for Model Town martyrs, adding that their blood will not go in vain.
