Foreign loans being used for rigging purposes: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that revolution march and the sit-in broke vanity of the rulers but they are becoming arrogant again. He said that our decision to protest lack of injustice in Model Town case was legal and justified, adding that the families of martyrs still await justice despite passage of more than one year. He said that they demand the Model Town case to be transferred to the military court for trial. He said that the IMF loans are being used to rig elections.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to PAT candidate for NA-154 elections Aamir Farid Koreja on telephone yesterday. He said that the candidates of the ruling party should be contested at every electoral arena. He said that despite being few in number, we are more than enough for them. He said that the Sharif brothers open the coffers of their wealth whenever any election approaches. He said that foreign loans are being used for electoral purposes, stating further that succeeding generations will have to pay back the borrowed money with interest.
Dr Qadri said that it has been more than 2.5 years since the present rulers came into power but why were they reminded of the need to announce Kisan Package ahead of local body and Lodhran by-elections? He said that the ECP instead of taking notice of violation of code of conduct has become more of the government’s representative. He said that as soon as present rulers leave the power, Model Town case and various financial scams will ‘welcome’ them. He said that the rulers are playing electoral games by leaving the responsibility of the National Action Plan on the military. He said that the country continues to be exposed to various dangers at internal and external fronts while the rulers remain focused on ensuring their electoral victory and squandering national resources on mindless mega projects.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri directed all PAT workers and leaders to spend their energies on the second phase of local bodies and by-elections and expose the performance of the rulers.
