Imran concedes Dr. Tahirul Qadri's decision to hold Long March was correct: PAT
LAHORE: The Information Secretary of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Noorullah Saddiuqi, has said that at long last the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has confessed that the decision to hold a Long March by Dr. Tahirul Qadri, chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, was correct and a step in the right direction.
The PAT Information Secretary further said that the claim of Dr. Tahirul Qadri that the elections will be rigged if they are conducted under the present provincial election Commissioners stands vindicated and has been proven true and Dr. Tahirul Qadri was right when he demanded a review of the elections laws and procedure under which the ECP conducts elections in the country.
The PAT Information Secretary said that today all the political parties are demanding a review of the election laws and a committee has been formed that will recommend amendments in the election laws of the country. He said this is a genuine PAT demand which Dr. Tahirul Qadri has been raising for years and this is the demand for which the PAT Long March and sit-in were held in Islamabad.
Noorullah Saddiuqi said today everything that Dr. Qadri said well before the 2013 elections is turning out to be true. He said that the PAT has been demanding the resignation of the provincial election commissioners and now under pressure from all the political parties of the country now the unlawfully appointed provincial election commissioners are ready to resign and the ECP has called a meeting for Monday to discuss their resignations.
