Government, opposition sabotaging National Action Plan against terrorism: PAT
Addressing the hurriedly called meeting of the PAT Central Working Council, PAT President Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi has said that the government together with the opposition is conspiring to sabotage the National Action Plan against terrorism. He said that the joint operation of Pakistan Army and Rangers against terrorism and criminal gangs is progressing successfully and the whole nation stands behind their state institutions in their resolve to eliminate terrorist safe havens and mafias. He said that the nation is concerned on the criticism heaped on the national security institutions. He said that if the corrupt political leaderships ganged up against the national security institutions or tried to put pressure on them, the whole nation will thwart such a conspiracy through their unity.
The PAT President said that the ruling PML-N is making its closest ally, PPP, give such statements as aim to create political chaos in the country so that the ongoing operation against terrorism could be rolled back. He said that the fact that the corrupt political leadership did not accept the military operation against terrorism right from the day one and with the passage of the 21st constitutional amendment, conspiracies started to be hatched against it. He said that there is no difference between the past statement of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and recent statements of PPP co-chairperson Asif Zardari. He said that Asif Zaradari subjected the Pakistan military to the worst criticism on the desire of his ally Nawaz Sharif. He asked how else one can describe the criticism on the Pakistan army except as a conspiracy, which was heaped on the state institution on completion of one year of operation against terrorism and mafias.
Dr Abbasi said that Rana Sanaullah is a liar and cunning person and responding to his nonsense is merely wastage of time. He said that as soon as the rulers are inching forward towards gallows, their nervousness is on the increase proportionately.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Organizer PAT Muhammad Hanif Mustafvi said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had stated well in advance that the corrupt elements sitting in the assemblies would not waste even a moment to thwart the National Action Plan against terrorism. He said that the effort to create political rift and chaos during the last phase of military operation against terrorists is part of the plan. He said that both the government and opposition are on the same page in their conspiracy against national security institutions. He said that if the leaders having soft corner for terrorists tried to make some alliance against the armed forces, the people will frustrate the evil designs of corrupt politicians.
The Central Working Council expressed its deep concern on the criticism against the Pakistan military and paid rich tributes to the Pak Army and Rangers on their operation against terrorists and criminals. The meeting was attended by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Basharat Jaspal, Hanif Mustafavi, Fayyaz Warraich, Sajid Bhatti, Jawad Hamid, Farah Naz, Ayesha Shabbir and others.
