PM must apologize to the nation for maligning the army: Dr Tahir ul Qadri
ISLAMABAD (22 October 2014) The chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Tahir ul Qadri has said the negative propaganda of the Govt that PAT held the sit-in in collaboration or on the instigation of any third force has died its own death. He said the government, cabinet and members of the ruling party must apologize to the nation for maligning the army and intelligence agencies directly and indirectly for two months. He was taking to news men and party office in Islamabad before his departure for Abbottabad, lambs were sacrificed before the motorcade of Dr. Tahir ul Qadri. A very large number of people and PAT workers had turn up to greet the PAT chief, flowers petals were showered on him and slogan were chanted for revolution.
He said that by calling of the sit-in we have proven that we make our own decisions and do not take dictation from anybody. He said that we forced the government to lodge an FIR of the Model Town incident and had we not staged the sit-in this would never had happened. He said instead the Punjab government had lodged an FIR against the people who had lost their dear ones in the Model Town incident. He said our war is with the unjust system and those who support and stand behind it. He said my opponents dream that I leave the country will never be fulfilled as I intend to stay here with the poor and oppressed people of the country.
Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that had anything like justice existed in the country we would not have had to stage the sit-in and the blood of those killed in the Model Town incident will not go waste and we will not rest till the culprits are given exemplary punishment.
He declared that the journey has not ended but rather it has just started. He said will fight for the rights of the oppressed and poor people of Pakistan and will not rest till our last breath. He said we have changed our strategy and our sit-in has exposed the corrupt and unjust system. He said we stand should to shoulder with the poor people of the country and ensure that everyone is provided justice.
Dr Qadri highly praised those who participated in the sit-in and said they showed great courage and resilience. They faced the harshness of the weather and that too of the administration but did not bow their head before the corrupt rulers. He said we have extended the scope of the sit-in to all over Pakistan and positive results have already started coming in. He said this has been proven by the successful sit-in of Abbottabad, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Karachi. He said PAT has and will continue to raise its voice against the corrupt system. He said we will never support those who have and continue to take personal advantage of the corrupt system. He said the people and history will never forgive the murderers of PAT workers. He said once we have revamped the system the people will see alive people sitting in the assemblies and today the assemblies have been turned into a graveyard of breathing people. He said the rulers and corrupt people will have to face a strict code of accountability before they will be eligible to contest elections and come to the assemblies.
