Hazara Tehreek announces support to PAT workers
ABBOTTABAD: The Tehreek-e-Suba Hazara has announced all-out support to the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and said it would participate in the reception for Dr Tahirul Qadri at the Islamabad Airport on June 23.
Addressing a press conference at his residence on Friday, the Tehreek chief Sardar Haider Zaman condemned the June 17 incident in Lahore, where eight people including two women were killed during a clash between the police and PAT workers. Flanked by several supporters, he said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz adopted illegal and unconstitutional ways to prevent Dr Qadri from arriving in the country from abroad and used Punjab Police to take law into their hands.
Haider Zaman, commonly known as “Baba”, claimed that the Lahore incident had resemblance with the incident that had taken place in Abbottabad on April 12, 2010 when the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police opened fire killing seven people and injuring over 100 during a protest against the renaming of the province and demanding separate province of Hazara.
