Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri included among top 50 influential Muslims
In recognition of his excellent contributions for promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue, harmony and services for Islam, the royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, an Aman-based top ranking international research institution, has included the name of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in its 5th annual issue of The Muslim 500. The said research organisation is a non-partisan entity affiliated with the international Islamic organisation, Royal All Albait Institute for Islamic Thought. List of influential Muslims published by the institution includes those from Pakistan and the world.

“Al-Qadri is a professor of law, and the founder of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International Worldwide, and the Minhaj Welfare Foundation. During its March 2011 session, the United Nations Economic and Social Council granted special consultative status to Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
Scholar
Al-Qadri has authored some 450 published works and given more than 6000 lectures on various subjects which are aired on international satellite channels. He also served as a jurist consult (legal adviser) on Islamic law for the Supreme Court and the Federal Shari‘ah Court of Pakistan and has worked as a specialist adviser on Islamic curricula for the Federal Ministry of Education of Pakistan.
Fatwa against Terrorism
In March 2010, Al-Qadri issued a 600-page fatwa which declared terrorists and suicide bombers to be unbelievers. “is authoritative and powerful fatwa against terrorism helped in the struggle to take Islam back from terrorists. The think tank “United States Institute of Peace” invited Qadri to speak about his struggle against radicalism in Islam in light of this fatwa. In August, 2012, he held the first anti-terror camp for Muslim youth at the University of Warwick.
Politician
Al-Qadri was a Member of the National Assembly before he resigned in 2004. More recently, in January 2013, he announced that he would return from Canada (where he had been residing for seven years) to lead a ‘million man’ march to parliament demanding political reform, more transparency and an end to corruption. His march drew thousands of his supporters, and ended a-er four days with an agreement called the Islamabad Long March Declaration.”
