Living nations seek to promote their thought globally: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s message on Independence Day
In his message to the nation on the 67th Independence Day, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the leader of Pakistan of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that the ideological nations do not live merely for their defence but for the worldwide promotion of its thought and ideology. He said that celebrating independence is a way of the living nation, adding that the day affords an opportunity to foster an attitude of self-accountability at individual and collective levels besides celebrating it in the befitting manner.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri bemoaned that the country stays intact after six decades but the nation is not be found anywhere. He said that we need to make a pledge to become a nation again, adding that we would have to initiate struggle against corrupt, exploitative and elitist political system, which has kept the nation disempowered, deprived and disenfranchised and is at the heart of multiple crises facing us today.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the people of Pakistan are celebrating their 67th independence day at a time when the country stands weakened from inside with its ideological and territorial integrity rendered vulnerable. He said that Pakistan came to such a sorry pass because we have continued to hand over power to those who are not inheritors of the Quaid’s ideals in total disregard to the principles espoused by him.
Dr Qadri said that had institutions been made stronger instead of personalities, the country would not have suffered political and economic setbacks as it has over the decades. He said that our borders are facing dangers today because we as a nation have not done justice to our duties. He said that Pakistan faces the worst leadership deficit which owes itself to presence of corrupt electoral system. He said that if every citizen of Pakistan makes a vow to wage peaceful struggle aimed at bringing down exploitative and oppressive system that stands erected on duress, rigging and corrupt practices, we can celebrate the next independence-day as economically and politically independent and prosperous nation.
