Heavy responsibility on youth to rise for change: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
The tried and test crop of politicians have rendered the country hollow by plundering its resources and giving bad governance a new meaning through their corrupt practices. Honest, competent and credible leadership is the need of the hour to eliminate the menace of corruption and strengthen state institutions. If elections are held without electoral reforms, the same lot of politicians will occupy policy making positions thereby plunging the country in an abyss of darkness and insolvency. It is about time the youth realized their responsibilities and launched a struggle to save Pakistan. If the youth did not do their duty, the succeeding generations will not forgive them.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks during a meeting with a high level delegation of Anjaman Talba-e-Islam (ATI) which called on him in the central secretariat of PAT the other day. The delegation, which was led by ATI central president Saeed Zafar Kichi, consisted of ATI Secretary General Aftab Azeem Bokhari, Muneer Mustafai and Salaman Chaudhry. PAT President Dr Raheeq Abbasi and Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam were also present on the occasion.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that it was our collective responsibility to strengthen Pakistan and smoothen the way for fair, free and transparent elections so that Pakistan could become a true realization of Iqbal’s and Quaid-e-Azam’s dreams.
Speaking on the occasion, ATI President Saeed Zafar Kichi said that his organization supported Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s agenda of change and reforms in the electoral system. He said that the workers of ATI would say yes to the call of Dr Qadri.
Meanwhile, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri condemned rocket attacks in Quetta. He said that the entire country was burning in the fire of extremism and no clear strategy was available to tackle the menace. He said that the government appeared as a manifest failure in checking the poor law and order situation in the country. He said that unless those responsible for creating law and order situation were brought to justice and effective legal deterrence put in place, the killings would continue. He said that the government needed to establish writ of the state.
