Greedy politicians desperate for power: PAT
Parliament claims to be representative institution of the masses but it will have to review and judge the scope of its powers and quality of its decisions whether these are in the best interest of the nation or not. The fact of the matter is that the people have yet to see a ray of hope and a reflection of freedom in the decisions of the ruling elite. He said that a few political families had exclusive hold on and occupation of the Parliament. He said that so-called leaders brazenly passed meaningless and irresponsible statements about the real leader of the people. Driven by greed for power, these so-called elements speak a new lie each day.
PAT President Dr Raheeq Abbasi expressed these views while talking to a delegation of PAT (Islamabad chapter) that called on him in Islamabad the other day. The delegation, which was led by Ibrar Raza Advocate, consisted of Sardar Mansoor, Umar Riaz Abbasi and GM Noorani.
Dr Abbasi said that he whose own intentions were questionable was out as a jury judging the intentions of others. He said that those who had set up their businesses abroad had no moral right to criticize Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He advised such elements to desist from misplaced and baseless criticism. He said that this lot of people were adept at rendering their vested interests into issues of national importance with extreme shrewdness and political gimmickry.
Dr Raheeq Abbasi said that those indulging in character assassination were desperate for grabbing power. They were threatened by the rising popularity of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He asked the people to join the revolution marches from Feb 15 onwards to rise against corrupt political system. He said that the people would have to create a distinction between real and fake leaders.
