WAAG representatives call on Shaykh-ul-Islam
Representatives of The World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates called on Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and exchanged views of mutual interest with him. The visiting delegation of WAAG included vice chairman and former federal minister Dr Abdul Fuzail Al-Qawsi, Shaykh Usama Yasin al-Mahni, vice chairman for administrative affairs of WAAG.
They discussed the areas of cooperation between Al-Azhar University and Minhaj University including the exchange of students between both universities. They agreed that students had a major role to propagate Islamic message of peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony in the world. They highlighted the need of working even more closely to promote the message of moderation and tolerance.
Later on that evening, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri gave a special interview a renowned Arabic channel of Egypt in which he gave comprehensive answers to questions on a wide range of subjects including terrorism, extremism, interfaith dialogue and efforts for promotion of peace etc. He particularly mentioned that if the Pakistani people wanted to bring about change, they needed to take a leaf from the Egyptian model of peaceful and democratic change.
