Female students ready to play their role to change corrupt system
Ms Shakira Chaudhry, central president of Students Affairs (Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League), has said that the Students’ Awareness Congregation being organized by Mustafavi Students Movement (MSM) on November 19 at Nasir Bagh will be the biggest event of Lahore’s history. Hundreds of thousands of female students will attend the event and vow to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri their dedicated struggle to bring about constructive change in the society. Shaykh-ul-Islam will deliver his keynote speech on the occasion and give a special message to the students.
She expressed these views while addressing the meeting of executive members held to review the arrangements of student gathering. She said that the change had become imminent and it was upon the youths and students in particular to rise to the occasion.
She said that hundreds of thousands of students would make a pledge to send the corruption-breeding system packing. She said that the present electoral system was geared to protect the interests of the ruling elite and this system would not be instrumental to bringing about change even if elections were held for hundred years. “There is no alternative but to eradicate the corrupt system. It is heartening that the student community is becoming alive to the grave challenges facing the country,” she said.
She said that separate seating arrangements would be made for the female participants and different committees have been formed in this respect.
