According to Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, if ten million people out of 170 million awaken their consciousness and stand up against the present exploitative, cruel, dishonest and elitist system and launch their peaceful and democratic struggle, none can stop the change from happening. Today, we do not have a system worth its name in the country with the result that the country suffers from the worst leadership deficit. Third International Scholars Conference on Nursi Studies held in Turkey

In the third week of June 2011, on 18 and 19, the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture (a leading research-based educational institute in Turkey) arranged a “Third International Scholars Conference on Nursi Studies”. Bediuzzaman Said Nursi was a contemporary of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Both of them “were two stars of the 20th century”. And “although they never met and [probably] were not aware of each other’s ideas, they put forward similar views on many subjects”. read more...

MWF distributes keys of houses & cheques among Flood victims

A splendid ceremony to distribute cheques and keys of constructed houses to the flood victims was held in the Rawalpindi Press Club under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation. The keys of 110 houses and cheques were distributed among the flood affectees who belonged to Kyber Pukhtankhawa. 37, 55 and 184 houses have been built in Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab respectively. read more...

A meeting of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, which met earlier in Lahore today with President Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani in the chair, elected its new executive body. PAT’s office holders from across Punjab attended the meeting. Chaudhry Lehrasib Khan Gondal, vice chairman of Punjab Bar Council, was elected as the President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Punajb chapter, while Muhammad Hanif Sandhu, Dr Zafar Naz, Talib Hussain, and Dr Muhammad Ilyas were elected as vice presidents. read more...
