All eyes on December 23: MQI

Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the count-down is on and only four days are left before the historic arrival of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in Pakistan. He said that the total area of Minar-e-Pakistan had been declared as the venue of the gathering and the huge central stage was being prepared for last two days. He said that hundreds of thousands of men, women and families would turn up at Minar-e-Pakistan to extend exemplary and historic welcome to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on his return. Speaking to Saqlain Imam, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that he believed in the democratic and political system. He rejected this notion that somehow he was trying to get the elections postponed or delayed. People will not return empty handed on December 23: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

Replying to a question, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan would be a representative gathering of 180 million people and would not be a show of a single party. He said that the people would not have witnessed such a big and peaceful gathering in the entire history of the country. He said that the public gathering would truly be national in character, which would be attended by workers, farmers, the poor, shopkeepers, labourers and representatives of all walks of life. Thousands of students make human chain to demand change in system

Thousands of students of colleges and universities from across the Lahore City made a human change from the Press Club Lahore to Aiwan-e-Iqbal to seek changes in the country's electoral system. The event took place under the banner of Mustafavi Students Movement (MSM). The students chanted slogans against the corrupt, obsolete and pro elite system. They wrote down word 'CHANGE' on the road between Aiwan-e-Iqbal and the local hotel and in this manner they conveyed their message in an effective manner. They were carrying placards with word 'Change' written on them including flags of Pakistan Awami Tehreek. read more...
