Concern over rising population is valid, but production must also increase: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, has said that while concern over the growing population is justified, attention must also be given to increasing production. China and India, he said, are providing food for their massive populations—why can Pakistan not do the same?
He stated that population control programs must indeed be effective, but there must also be concern for bringing millions of acres of uncultivated agricultural land under cultivation and increasing agricultural productivity.
The PAT leader said that Allah Almighty has created this earth with a specific
balance and proportion, and maintaining this balance is essential for its sustainability.
The state should enhance productive resources, build new water reservoirs, use modern
technology for higher yields, and bring innovation to agriculture. Alongside these
efforts, attention must also be given to birth control; only when both measures
are implemented together can the problem be solved. Simply saying that “the number
of mouths to feed must be reduced” is not enough.
He further added that even those countries that achieved 100% results in birth control
should be observed—look at the conditions they are in today.
