Pakistan Awami Tehreek gave the slogan of saving the state, not politics: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur
The supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law are essential for a strong and prosperous Pakistan
Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, has stated that Pakistan is the reason for our existence. He emphasized that the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law are vital for a strong and prosperous Pakistan.
He said that PAT has always prioritized the state over politics. He recalled the pledge made on December 23, 2012, at Minar-e-Pakistan with millions of people, vowing to save the state, not politics. He reiterated that the party remains committed to this pledge, asserting that the state will be strengthened by upholding the Constitution.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur highlighted that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri had proposed an agenda for institutional reforms, which, if implemented even today, could place Pakistan among the prosperous and stable nations of the world. He added that the state can only be fortified through the supremacy of the Constitution, the provision of justice, and a system based on merit.
The PAT Secretary General further noted that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam, also emphasized the importance of the rule of law and the eradication of nepotism after the country's establishment. He remarked that developed nations operate their states through strong institutions. For Pakistan to progress, all institutions working under the Constitution must be strengthened. He also stressed that the Parliament must act in accordance with the Constitution and the aspirations of the people to steer Pakistan out of crises.
