People are suffering due to power sector woes: PAT
PAT's Central Secretary General, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has expressed concerns over the public's distress due to soaring electricity bills and inflation. He stated that the exorbitant inflation has made it impossible for the common person to survive on their hard-earned income. The public is suffering because of expensive electricity and fuel, with laborer families having nothing left to eat after paying their electricity bills. Small industries and businesses have shut down.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that in a situation where the electricity bill exceeds the monthly income, even survival becomes a crime. He also condemned the anti-farmer policies, stressing that the country's prosperity is tied to the well-being of farmers. The government should immediately address the issues facing farmers so that the farmers in this agricultural country can breathe a sigh of relief.
The PAT Secretary General expressed these views during a meeting with organizational officials in Multan. On this occasion, central Naib Nazim-e-Aala Allama Rana Idrees Qadri, Dr. Zubair A. Khan, Javed Ashraf Warraich, Ahmed Qureshi, Ehsan Saeedi, Younas Qadri, Shabbir Nawaz Khehra, Noor Hussain Qadri, Sher Khan, Chaudhry Ashfaq Rasheed, Engineer Umar Chishti, Chaudhry Javed Bandesha, Yasir Irshad Dewan, Zaman Awan, Misbah Ishaq, and other leaders were present.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated that the root cause of all the country's problems is the current corrupt and outdated system, which offers nothing for the people.
He said that until this corrupt system is changed, it will be impossible to solve the country's problems. To change the corrupt system, the public needs to unite.
Gandapur mentioned that Pakistan Awami Tehreek continues its struggle against the corrupt system and is establishing 25,000 knowledge centers to raise public awareness. He further added that in Pakistan, electricity bills have surpassed the rent of people's homes. Those who cannot afford to pay hefty bills are selling their valuable possessions to make the payments. The situation is worsening day by day.
