Women empowerment central to national development: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the women have a fundamental role to play in the construction of a society. He said that education of the women should be given special importance in order to achieve the targets of growth, stating that the dream of peace and development will not be realized without investing in the socio-economic and educational well-being of the women. He said that a major reason of moral decay in the society today lies in keeping the women deprived of education and moral training. The reform programmes of the MQI put a premium on education and empowerment of the women.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks while talking to a delegation of MWL that called on him yesterday. The delegation consisting of Ms. Farah Naz, Ayesha Mubashir, Sidra Kramat, Hajra Bibi and Saima Noor. The students of the Quran Learning Course and M. Phil and PhD scholars were also in attendance.
Dr Qadri said that it is a matter of happiness that the nation is fully aware of the need to impart education to the girls. He said that merely getting a degree and a job is not the objective of education. Rather unlocking the creative potential of others is the dire need of the hour to fulfill the dream of national progress, adding that positive thinking shapes societies along high moral values. He further said that a government that invests in the women empowerment will be able to achieve the targets of growth.
