No resolution of Kashmir issue without Kashmiris’ will: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Kashmir issue is not a matter of anyone's ego but of political, social, economic and religious future of 20 million Kashmiris. He said that no person or a nation can be kept deprived of his or their fundamental rights on the basis of brute power.
In his message on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, which is being observed across Pakistan on February 5, he said that the only resolution of Kashmir issue lies in implementation of the United Nations resolutions. He demanded that the UN resolutions should be implemented & Kashmiris should be given their right to self-determination. He said that the Kashmiris are most important stakeholders in the Kashmir issue and no resolution can be imposed without their will. He said that their aspirations should be respected.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the Kashmiris have been waiting for the fulfillment of the promises that the world community made at the UN forum. He said that the present & past governments only did politicking on Kashmir, adding that the kind of effective political & diplomatic role that was required to project the issue at the international level was not played. He said that the rulers who talk about the Kashmir cause have been involved in human rights violations of their own citizens and corruption.
Dr Qadri said that no government has a right to use as important an issue as Kashmir as a means to project its political interests. He said that protection of fundamental rights of Kashmiris is shared responsibility of all parties, international community and the UN.
