Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri vows to struggle for rights of masses till last breath of his life
Addressing the All-Pakistan Workers Convention of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) through video link from Canada, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that PAT is the only political party in the country, which gave its workers up to union council level the right to elect their central leadership. He felicitated the newly elected office holders of PAT including Dr Raheeq Abbasi and Khurram Nawaz Gandapur on the occasion.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the workers gave matchless sacrifices for revolution, adding that he is proud of their sacrifices. He said that we are not struggling for power but for restoration of constitutional rights of 180 million people who remain mired in multiple crises. He said that the lofty ideal for which we are waging a struggle knows no failure. He made it clear that his workers and he would continue to fight the oppressive system till the last breath of his life. He said that he is satisfied with the medical treatment but added in the same breath that final tests will be conducted in the last week of April of first week of May. He said that Pakistan will be his first destination after his complete recovery.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri asked the newly elected PAT organization to stay focused on the one-point agenda of organizing and activating the party at the grass-roots. He said categorically that there would be no compromise on the respect of the workers, adding that every worker is his son and his opinion should be given due weightage. He congratulated the hundreds of thousands of workers who rejected the government-sponsored propaganda on the conclusion of the sit-in and maintained exemplary unity in their ranks. He said that PAT is the hope of the masses. He said that we have neither stepped back from our stance of bringing about revolution and eliminating exploitative system nor any power can make us withdraw from it. He said that baseless allegations made by our political opponents have died their own death due to the workers’ steadfastness and resolve. He said that PAT chronicled a glorious chapter in the political history of the country during the sit-in. He said that if the workers were with him on the 70-day long sit-in, he was not oblivious of them either nor did he leave them even for one moment.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the blood of martyrs has now become part of intellectual movement of PAT and MQI. He said that increase in hubris of those who killed innocent people is a sign of extended lease of life to them, adding that even Pharaoh was confident until he drowned. He said that he can neither forget the blood of Model Town tragedy nor forgive the killers. He said that we would avenge every drop of blood through courts and justice system. He said that he has an eye on the theatrics being demonstrated through fake JITs. He asked is there any need of more investigation after the Model Town Judicial Commission has unmasked the killers?
The PAT chief asked workers to take full and active part in local government elections at every level, further saying that full attention should be paid to elections in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that our struggle is against corrupt and oppressive system and those safeguarding it. He said that he felt like returning to Pakistan without wastage of even one second, adding that as long as he is alive he would continue to wage the struggle for restoration of rights of the people. He said that the country whose citizens do not get education, jobs, justice, and health opportunities, how can his workers stay silent and not raise voice for the rights of the downtrodden and underprivileged sections of society? He asked the PAT workers to reach out to masses at every level with the ten-point revolutionary agenda of the party and convince them to raise their voice against oppressive system and corrupt rulers. He said that every worker of PAT is his spokesman, adding that it is the PAT which will bring about revolution and get rid of the oppressors.
