Chairman PAT Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri says his heart is filled with grief and sorrow over the brutal murder of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto. May Allah bless her with forgiveness and peace. Expressing solidarity with the family members of the late Benazir Bhutto, PPP workers, leaders and the nation at large, Dr Qadri strongly condemned her assassination saying: It is the murder of democracy and political freedom and a heinous conspiracy and a dangerous maneuver of hidden hands to dismember Pakistan. Paying tributes to the dynamic leadership of Banazir Bhutto he called her a gallant daughter of a dauntless father whom the unforeseen forces have removed from the scene. She was a political leader of high stature. Dr Qadri was addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club telephonically from Canada. The meeting of General Council of PAT was held on November 25, 2007 in order to formulate new party policy in respect of upcoming general elections 2008. The resolution based on the party policy regarding upcoming elections was moved by PAT Secretary General, which the General Council approved with consensus, while party Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri endorsed the resolution. According to this resolution, Pakistan Awami Tehreek believes in democracy and electoral process but the present flawed system in vogue in the country was characterized by corruption and thus was anti-thesis of democracy. The inauguration ceremony of FM Radio and Mosque was held a few days ago under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Nelson. By unveiling the plaque installed in the courtyard of the mosque, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri performed the inauguration of mosque. The funeral prayers of Al-Haaj Muhammad Ismail Qadri, uncle of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, were performed on November 17, 2007 in his native city of Jhang. Al-Haaj Muhammad Ismail Qadri breathed his last after protracted illness on November 16. The funeral prayers of the deceased were held in the neighbouring graveyard of Jhang. The son of Shaykh-ul-Islam, Sahibzada Hussain Mohy ud Din Qadri, Amir-e-Tehreek Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani, Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Nazim DFA G.
