Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Dr Qadri had given a call to prayer (Azan) in the form of the Islamabad Long March and historic sit-in. Now only the ‘jamaat’ was left to be led and once it happened, it would see the demise of the corrupt and elitist system which was at the heart of predicaments facing the people. Speaking on the occasion, Bishop of Lahore Reverend Irfan Jamil said that peaceful coexistence and respect for each other’s beliefs and faith was a prerequisite for promotion of interfaith relations. He said that we needed to highlight these issues in our curriculum and sensitize our young generations about the need to imbibe tolerance and moderation in our attitudes. Pakistan Awami Tehreek held countrywide demonstrations to protest against the Balochistan government’s dictatorial and anti-media attitude and to show solidarity with ARY News. The demonstrations, held across the country in front of press clubs of all major cities, were attended by PAT workers in large numbers. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI’s Supreme Council, has said that the myriad problems the country has been facing both internally as well as externally are due to leadership crisis. He said that the country needs a leadership that is visionary, nationalistic, and courageous and is deeply wedded to the ideology of the Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
