LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehrik Chief Tahirul Qadri on Friday said an investigation team comprising representatives of the ISI, MI, and IB and a judicial commission of three Supreme Court (SC) judges should probe the Tuesday carnage in Model Town. LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehrik chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has said they would accept an inquiry by a joint investigation team which consisted of representatives from Inter-Services Intelligence, Military Intelligence, and Intelligence Bureau, and a judicial commission comprising three impartial judges of the Supreme Court (SC). Rana Resigns, Qadri Says Not Enough

The Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah has resigned from his post and has sent his resignation letter to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif. The Chief Minister revealed in a press conference this Friday evening that he had asked the Law Minister to resign due to the Model Town Lahore incident where Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s residence and the Trust Minhaj-ul-Quran were attacked by the Punjab police. The attack included beating and direct gunshots by the policemen at every man they could find in that area. More than eighty people were injured and eight were declared dead on the spot. LAHORE: Dr Tahirul Qadri, the chief of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT), while rejecting the removal of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and terming it an eyewash, said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had ordered the police to open firing at the Minhajul Quran Secretariat in Model Town, Lahore, and he should tender his resignation. Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on Saturday reached London where he is due to catch a flight to Islamabad. He said that hurdles will be laid from the day one, adding that the ‘voice of truth’ cannot be suppressed and that there’s no justification to stop him, Dunya News reported.
